UTA’s community organization activities are projects that bring together people affected by the same types of problems to work collectively for solutions.
HOUSING FOR ALL
Housing For All is an organizing campaign advocating for the expansion of permanently affordable housing for low and moderate income people throughout the Capital Region. Housing For All was organized as a response to the growing inequality in housing that impacts the many low and moderate income people in this area who pay too much of their income for rent because of the lack of affordable housing. Ongoing support for tenants in organizing their buildings to protect their rights and to fight to expand low-income housing opportunities.
United Tenants organizing efforts of the past has led to the creation of the Albany Community Land Trust, Capital District Community Loan Fund, and the Affordable Housing Partnership.
All requests for assistance are handled through the Housing Hotline. Tenants seeking assistance can reach our Housing Hotline at (518) 436-8997 extension 3. A housing counselor will return calls in the order they are received. We appreciate your patience while we respond to high call volumes.
